The Kranzberg Studio serves a wide variety of students from the Washington University community, including students from the Schools of Art, Architecture, Arts and Sciences, & The Creative Writing program. A class investigating the illustrated book, its design and production, is offered each semester and every third semester an “Advanced Topics in the Book” class is offered for those students wishing to further their studies. The Studio also supports vital components of the Visual Communications major in typography and illustration.

The Kranzberg Studio is equipped with 6 Vandercook proof presses, a good selection of metal and wood type and exposure unit for making photopolymer plates. A printmaking area with two Takach etching presses, and digital media area to generate and print images complete the studio.
